Privacy policy

This policy explains what the FutonEV Android app collects, why, the legal basis for it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the rights you have. We keep data collection to what the app needs to plan routes and improve, and we do not sell your data.

Who we are

The data controller for FutonEV is clq inc. (registered address and country to be confirmed). You can reach us about privacy at support@clqinc.zendesk.com.

What we collect and why

Each item below lists what we process, the purpose, and the GDPR legal basis.

• Account details. If you create an account: your email address, an optional display name, and your subscription status. Signing in with Google shares the same basic profile fields. Purpose: to create and manage your account. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)). You can use route planning without an account.
• Location. Your device location, used to centre the map, find nearby chargers, and provide turn-by-turn navigation. Purpose: to deliver the features you request. Legal basis: performance of a contract, and your device permission. We do not keep your location as a stored history.
• Trip and vehicle input. The start and destination, battery levels, and the vehicle and charging subscriptions you select, sent to our routing service to compute a plan. Purpose: route planning. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
• Connected-car data. Only if you link a Tesla or Volvo account: battery and charge state, read to improve estimates. Purpose: better range and charging estimates. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by disconnecting the vehicle.
• Usage analytics. Anonymous, aggregated events (for example "route planned" or "station opened") via Google Analytics for Firebase. Purpose: to understand which features are used and improve the app. Legal basis: your consent. Collection is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in Settings, Usage analytics.
• Diagnostics. Basic crash and performance data. Purpose: to find and fix bugs. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable (Article 6(1)(f)).

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with providers that process data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase. Authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and app integrity (App Check).
• Stripe. Payment processing for subscriptions. Card details go to Stripe, not to us.
• Map and charging data sources. Map tiles (OpenFreeMap and MapLibre) and the charging-network operators whose live pricing and availability we display.
• Tesla and Volvo. Only when you choose to connect a vehicle, to read its battery state.

We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

International transfers

Some providers, such as Google and Stripe, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request. Analytics and diagnostics are retained in aggregate for a limited period by our providers under their standard policies. Routing requests are processed to return a plan and are not retained as a personal profile.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing done before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@clqinc.zendesk.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

Your choices in the app

• Analytics. Open Settings, Usage analytics, and turn it off. The app then stops sending analytics events.
• Location. You control location access through your device's system permissions.
• Connected vehicles. Disconnect a linked Tesla or Volvo at any time to stop reading its data.

Children

FutonEV is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
